Five Most Anticipated Fantasy Movies of 2016

Friday, May 27, 2016

Some seriously hot movies are announced for this year. So, let’s see the top 5 most anticipated titles:

Warcraft

OK, we’re pretty familiar with this one – inspired by the video game franchise, it’s the world where humans and orcs are engaged in an everlasting battle! Duncan Jones, the director has a rather demanding task ahead of him – to not disappoint the army of game fans, for they have spent hours and days in the realm of Azeroth and they certainly have high expectations from the movie!Of course, whether the movie turns out a success or not also depends on those from the audience that are not that familiar with the game. But hey – no pressure here!

The BFG

Steven Spielberg’s new project, The BFG, has its story based on another masterpiece novel by Roald Dahl (his more known works are Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Fantastic Mr. Fox). Just these two facts are enough to stir attention among the moviegoers!

The film features a band of heroes that are lead by Sophie (Ruby Barnhill). They are on a crusade to free the world from the man-eating giants! Sounds really exciting, but we’ve never expected anything less from the master of adventure genre!

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

The Harry Potter franchise was a massive success world over, both movie-wise and novel-wise. Saying goodbye to this world of magic was pretty difficult for me, as I am sure it was for the majority of Harry Potter fans (although probably not as much as it was to Warner Bros that accumulated over $2.39 billion only in the US!)

Anyway, this new project from J. K. Rowling’s pen has great potential to become another franchise and I can’t wait for it! Especially since it features Eddie Redmayne, last year’s Academy Award winner!

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Star Wars, a thirty-something-year long sci-fi/fantasy/adventure franchise has inevitably found its way to our list. The story is set just before A New Hopeand it revolves around the Rebel spies that gave Luke Skywalker the plans of the Death Star. We all know it consequently lead to Luk’s amazing defeat of Imperial forces!

Felicity Jones is cast for the first of Disney’s anthology films that take place in the Star Wars universe.

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children

The master of the fantasy genre – Tim Burton presents Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children! He will try to adapt a novel by Ransom Riggs into a big-screen project that assembles a group of amazing actors from Judy Dench and Samuel L. Jackson to Eva Green and Asa Butterfield!

The story revolves around Jacob Portman, a teenage hero determined to fight off some dark creatures, thus protecting a group of orphaned kids.

Hooked? I know I am…
