The latest project of the Swedish designer Love Hultén, known for his crafting of beautiful electronic devices, is coming soon. Named Pixel Vision, it is a portable gaming device built around a system that emulates classic consoles such as the NES, Atari 2600, original Game Boy and others.

Pixel Vision is handcrafted from walnut for a perfect retro feel, and the device is powered by a Raspberry Pi board with its estimated battery life being about 8 hours of play time, provided by a 2,000mAh battery. It can store up to 10,000 games which can be transferred via USB – there is a USB port on the back of the device. It has a 3.5-inch LCD screen and the console is pocket-sized, measuring at 95 x 95 x 45mm.

The price tag is $461 and there will only be 500 standard units made. Hultén will also be making 20 “Pearl” units with D-pad buttons made of brass, that will cost $807.
